About Enid
Enid D Hubbard grew up in Sussex and Kent, England. She first started writing at six, when her four-line poem about a robin was read out in class. She still has it.
In 1998, Enid and her husband went to Slovenia for two years. There, a woodpile and the imagined eyes of wood sprites sparked a story that she sent to her daughter in weekly chapters. That story became Song of the Silent.
Away from writing, Enid enjoys patchwork and quilting. Classical music accompanies her writing, and The Lord of the Rings remains her favourite book.
About the book
A country has been sealed from the rest of the world. Peace and security have been taken for granted. Generations pass and an old insurrection becomes resigned to history.
Beyond their borders, a wound seethed and itched until it burst. The infection festered and grew into an all-consuming desire for power, regicide and revenge.
